A SELECTION OF OUR BACKGROUNDS,
In a variety of
places, and methods, searching to find ourselves.
Through sanitariums, health farms, psychology, psychiatrists, physiotherapy, both religious and otherwise, we sought inner peace.
Our minds lead us here and there - it didn't occur to us to seek God's A.B.C. for fulfillment.
Tablets, more tablets, change of tablets, psychiatrist, shock treatment, tablets, sanitarium, betrayal, broken marriage, tablets, continuing depression, more tablets -and then this lady found Jesus, and His power living in her life.
"You're a nice person if you don't drink". It was a long time since I first heard those words, and I was much worse now. I always knew I drank differently from other people. A simple set of questions and answers gave me hope, and a way out of the drinking problem I knew I had."
"Drink was costing me much more than money."
"I couldn't stay stopped for any real length of time. And it was getting much harder to stop. Each time the consequence of my behavior was much worse. I was sick inside and desperate. Something had to be done."
MY
TESTIMONY
“For me this book was a gift from God out of His love and mercy.
As I read and re-read each page the Holy Spirit ministered to me. A change began to take place inside my being; I started to experience something totally new and very real. So foreign was this that at first I did not recognize what it was, but I knew it was good and I wanted it...... HOPE began to grow within me. Although fear, anxiety and guilt still gripped my soul, this work of the Holy Spirit enabled me to say - I am willing to trust you Jesus with my life. That was five years ago and He has faithfully sustained me.
Be encouraged, however small that initial glimmer of hope. Give your life over to Jesus and He will give back to you a life that is restored, renewed and worth living”. J.J.
This lady received her book while locked away in a
mental asylum five years ago. We met
her recently. With the help of Jesus
Christ and some close caring Christians, she worked through these pages to the
best of her ability inspired by the testimonies of others in this book. She found her freedom.
Today none of us who have met her could ever have imagined her as having been a mental hospital patient. She is lovingly active in Gods service. Praise the Lord.
Street angel, House devil- "The description fitted me like a glove. - it hurt."
"I was sick and tired of being sick and tired."
For some of us, a desire turned sour.
