ADDICTION is a serious business.
Work, food, beverages, television, newspapers, magazines, clothes, lust, alcohol, drugs, tablets, money, gambling, nicotine, and many more.
We desired and sought an unhealthy and unbalanced quantity of these things.
We were "Hooked" - these powers controlled us. We realized we have addictive personalities. We were in control once, but out of control, as our addiction continued to make demands.
Our desires became dependencies. We usually had more than one addiction. They became progressively more demanding. We experienced craving
- a mental obsession coupled with a physical compulsion.
We had lost our control.
We had lost the power of choice.
We knew we needed help.
How we cried when someone we loved had taken their own lives.
Was it because they could not cope, or because they hadn't made the grade?
We could never be sure, but it didn’t matter now.
We miss our loved one's.
Prisoners hurting deep down - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sorry and ashamed.
These people did not realize what they had gotten into.
Fortunately for them, Jesus did.
And others being unable to control inner urges of sexual desires being stimulated over and over again, giving birth to promiscuity, and every form of SEXUAL DEVIATION -masturbation, pornography, homosexuality, sodomy, child molesting, incest, rape, and so on....
Our past too.
From sweet to sour to bitter, and every thing desired and hoped for lost.
Emotionalism, fears, tension - and that deep down sick feeling inside of impending doom and despair.
Confused children, pale children, clinging children, sullen children, children for sounding boards, children's minds colored or brain washed. Emotionally disturbed children. Distrusting children, resentful, angry.
And character assassination leaving its mark - everywhere. Property arrangements, property settlements, lawyers, legal expenses, material dismantling.
Less respect for mankind. Still greater fear of man. Postmortems of little value.
Our experience is that marriage breakups are rarely any less intense than this.
Even apparent "winners" were very damaged anyway.
