COMMUNION IS SOUL FOOD

Pray-read John 6:31-69.. The 38 verses speak directly on the subject of our Lord's Supper. Amongst many, many things Jesus tells us He is the Living Bread ; we are nourished by Him; we appropriate His life ; He raises us up at the last day; we shall never die ; the words He speaks are Spirit and Life, and lots more. He's talking about Himself, our Communion, our Supper together, our KOINONIA relationship, the real thing, the Lord's Table ! He doesn't mess about, does He ?. Luke 22:15 in the Greek tells us He was excited with an excitement and an intense desire to have that final passover, or first Communion with the new church. For He knew that you and I would be turning up to share in the joy of it all TODAY !!!What a man ! What a God ! Back in John 6:51 He said   I am the Living Bread'. Same yesterday, today,  tomorrow ! Shewbread (Exodus 25:30) means’ BREAD OF PRESENCE’ . He's always present at Communion, at His Table where He turns up to be present at the celebration of the Covenant……..Fellowship with Him opens up the word!

PAULS EXAMPLE -  A PATTERN SET FOR US Philipians 3: 9,10,17 Amp.

V9  And that I may (actually) be found and known in Him,...... possessing that (genuine righteousness) which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the (truly) right standing with God, which comes from God by (saving) faith.

V1O (For my determined purpose is) that I may know Him ( that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly), and that I may know the power outflowing from His resurrection ( which it exerts over believers) and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed ( in spirit into His likeness even) to His death, (in the hope)

V 17  Brethren together follow my example and observe those who live after the pattern we have set for you.

Note Pauls reference (V17) to his own example being shown for us to follow and that he and others are following a pattern of God. In V9 & 10, we see God's personal goals for Paul at some depth, and see him pressing on towards his goal (V14).

THERE’S LORDSHIP AND LORDSHIP.

When all else fails, follow the directions!

‘He who is able to hear, let Him listen to and heed what the Holy spirit says to the assemblies - the churches.'

Rev 3:22 Amp.

Jesus wrote a 'Report card’ to us after He arose. We find some of it in Chapters 2 &3 of Revelations. Through John He speaks of the condition of the 7 churches or assemblies of the day,. It is for us today. We choose like they did. What shall we choose ? Read on.

Have a look at Revelations 2:1-7 (Amp). Note the Ephesian churches, pretty good and efficient handle on things down to V3. Many of our assemblies today would like to be that good. However along comes a very definite 'BUT' , and we find Jesus saying, ' BUT I have this against you, you have abandoned the love you had at first, you have deserted Me, your first love' . 'Rectify it or I will take away the Holy Spirit and the annointing from you' V5. He continues, 'change your mind and repent' .It must be important for Jesus to rebuke, to shut something down if its not going to plan. And what was it they abandoned?

The last two words of V4 'first love’ when correctly translated mean' protos agape' –the 'above all love feast'.  That’s Communion, and Koinonia too!

Now look what happens in V7 for those who remedy the situation sincerely.

They become the overcomers who emerge to eat the Fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5:22,23) from the TREE OF LIFE in the paradise of God! They're His words, not ours!

And that's the very TREE OF LIFE, that Adam lost access to, for he was driven away from it by God when Adam blew it ! Have a look at Genesis 3:22-24. This is amazing stuff that God is doing for us today!
